Aschaffenburg, 19.07.2019. Nach nur 55 Minuten war schon wieder Schluss im deutsch-deutschen Duell zwischen Lisa Matviyenko und Katharina Gerlach. Beim Stande von 3:6, 0:2 musste Matviyenko verletzungsbedingt die Segel streichen und die in der Setzliste an Nummer fünf geführte Gerlach zog ohne weitere Mühen in das Viertelfinale der „12. Schönbusch Open Internationale bayerische Meisterschaften der Damen  – flowered by 1000gutegruende.de“ ein. Die Verletzung von Lisa Matvinyenko, die in der Weltrangliste derzeit auf Platz 543 geführt wird, bedeutete für Katharina Gerlach (WTA 320) und ihrer Partnerin Julia Wachaczyk zudem der kampflose Einzug ins Halbfinale der Doppelkonkurrenz – auch sehr zum Leidwesen von Ekatarina Makarova (RUS), die an ihrer Seite aufgeschlagen hätte.

Luke Bambridge/Ben McLachlan made their first ATP Tour event together this year an unforgettable one, powering past Marcus Daniell/Philipp Oswald 7-6(3), 6-3 on Saturday to win the doubles title at the ASB Classic in Auckland.Bambridge/McLachlan won 75 per cent of their second-serve points (6/8) to help guide them through a tight opening set.
