Among the great NFL mysteries, perhaps on par with how Jason Garrett remains employed as Cowboys coach, is the Bills' Week 14 underdog status. Baltimore (10-2) is favored against Buffalo by nearly a touchdown. In Buffalo. Although the Bills (9-3) are from perfect, they are fully capable of taking out the Ravens and, dare I say, even AFC East rival New England. Like most of the rest of the country, I'm a little late to the Bills' party. But their humiliation of the Cowboys on Thanksgiving convinced me something special is going on in Buffalo besides the Bills Mafia. Digging a little deeper, I see a stout defense, a capable running game and a quarterback on the rise. Let's examine the evidence: The Bills' defense ranks third in the league in points and yards allowed. Buffalo is particularly strong against the pass, having allowed the third-fewest yards and second-fewest touchdowns. Look out, Tom Brady, and your below-average receiving corps. Buffalo’s best work has come against bad teams, but it did stifle the

On the field, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is a future hall of famer. When it comes to rapping, it might not be his strong suit. Along with singer Alexander Star, former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez and Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry, Fitzgerald tried his hand at some bars in “This is my Era.” Related Links Larry Fitzgerald re-signs with Arizona Cardinals for 2020 season Cardinals' Larry Fitzgerald to play in WM Phoenix Open Pro-Am Fitzgerald’s chimed in about ways that the community can take action to reduce its carbon footprint. The song is part of a campaign, Super Coral Play, which is designed to raise awareness about endangered coral reefs. It encourages people to make a play by getting involved in beach cleanup, stop using single use plastics and complete other actions. Follow @AZSports

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray caused a bit of a kerfuffle earlier this week when he indicated he still had interest in playing baseball at some point. “I think I could. … Athletically, I think yeah, I could do it. I’ve been playing both my whole life. I would love to add that to the resume,” he told Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic (Twitter link). Fortunately for Cardinals fans, they don’t have to worry about that anytime soon. Murray’s NFL contract specifically bars him from pursuing his other sport in any form, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network (Twitter link). Rapoport reviewed the language of Murray’s deal, which rules out “any baseball related activity, tryout, workout, scrimmage, any exhibition, from any baseball team in any baseball league.” Murray, of course, was previously a two-sport athlete. He was drafted early in the first round by the Oakland Athletics a few years ago, and until he took over for Baker Mayfield as Oklahoma’s starting quarterback, it was widely presumed he would p

There is tons of respect between former Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer and current Arizona running back David Johnson. Palmer took Johnson under his wing in his first few seasons and in Bruce Arians’ offense helped the running back to 1,239 rushing yards and 879 more receiving in 2016. Of course, you know the rest of the story. Johnson got hurt in 2017, signed an extension and under two head coaches since Arians left the team hasn’t been the same. Johnson’s future remains in question with Arizona looking like it wants to bring back free agent running back Kenyan Drake, who shined under head coach Kliff Kingsbury’s offense in 2019. Palmer, who remains one of Johnson’s biggest fans, admits it might just not be the right fit for his former rookie to remain with the Cardinals. “I am a 100% believer. I think he can get those numbers back,” Palmer told Doug & Wolf on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station when he joined their show Friday. “This system might not be built for him and Bruce’s system might’ve been
