The Chicago Bears defense might be even stronger in 2020 after the team reportedly beat out multiple suitors to sign cornerback Tre Roberson. Roberson, a star in the Canadian Football League, is expected to sign one of the largest CFL-to-NFL contracts ever, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. While terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, Roberson’s contract is expected to finish just behind Cameron Wake’s record $4.9 million deal when he signed with the Miami Dolphins out of the CFL in 2009. Roberson first appeared in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings from 2016-’17, but he remained on the team’s practice squad for two seasons. He signed with the Calgary Stampeders in 2018 and won a championship in his first season. The 27-year-old emerged as one of the league’s best cornerbacks during the 2019 season with seven interceptions and two touchdowns. He was named to the CFL’s All-Star team and caught the eye of multiple NFL teams this offseason. Roberson will compete for a spot in Chicago’s secondary this summer.

Obviously, being the Cowboys quarterback is second to none. There are very few positions in all of sports that are comparable to it. So when you put that in perspective, my mindset is to be in Dallas. And I’ve got the confidence in my team to get something done and the confidence in the Cowboys that we’ll be able to.” The Cowboys know how important Prescott is to their long-term success. Ezekiel Elliott expressed similar confidence that the
